Article about all incoming freshman receiving iPhones in the Fall '08 at Abilene Christian.

I wish they had this sorta deal back when I was in school.

Pretty cool. I wonder if they'll get the new (rumored) 3G phones or the old stock. But I'd rather go to the university that "gives" a Macbook.

The article doesn't say anything about the possible negative outcomes of this.
I'm not sure i'd like that.
What happens if you have a little accident with the iPhone?
What if you don't want the service the iPhones have?
What if you don't want an iPhone period?

I would think that it was optional. It sounds like all the programs they use for the iPhone are convenient, but not absolute. I am sure that for those who don't have the iPhone, or want one, there is no penalty. I don't know what they plan with phone service, but I would hope they figured something out .
