I just got an email telling me that an apple recruiter will be calling me on tuesday for a 30 minute phone interview for a mac genius position. I have no idea what to expect here and was wondering if anyone has had one of these for an apple job and what I could expect?

Thanks in advance!

Here is a good place for info about working in a Apple Store, and if you go to the very bottom you can see other people's interview/working experience.

Good Luck with the interview!

I have no useful information for you. I just wanted to say, "Good luck"! A friend of ours works for Apple in Cupertino in the accounting department. She's been there forever. She loves working for them.

Wow, very cool! Congrats! Let us know what it's like to be genius-ified!

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Oh congrats on the position. Well done.

Well actually I think you'll do just fine cause we're all like little mac geniuses here anyways. Giving advice when we can. So it's all valuable experience.

It's really a repeat of what you already took on your first interview and then asking you general intelligence questions. I was hired but declined the job because I was moving to NYC.

Cheers folks! I had a face to face ''interview'' but it only lasted 10 minutes. VERY informal with one guy asking questions about how I got into Apple etc.

I was a Genius until '05. I don't know how much has changed since then but I can tell you to get everything in writing that's agreed upon in the interview. I had a special need for hours of availability (college) and was told in the interview I would only work on "occasional" weekend and "occasional" evening. I worked every single night and weekend until I left.

Training was great--it's like a two-week Mac vacation. Everything is paid for, and there's super-cool mac folk to hang around with (my group was great). We still keep in casual contact but most have either quit or moved on to other jobs within the company.

If you know Windows, inside and out, you're golden to them. Mac knowledge didn't seem like priority when I interviewed ('cause they'll teach you that), but if you knew your way around 2000/XP it seemed like they couldn't wait to get you in.
