Does Input-Remapper work on Mac Book non-Pro?

Seeing Olafsson site seems not.
I tried the same: it looks installed, process is running, tray icon is present, remapping is set in the configure panel but nothing changes. May be I missed some further action ?
And why it shoud not work on Mac Book non-pro ?
There is any alternative to get fn-Backspace=Delete and fn-Arrows ....?
