How to erase Boot Camp partition?

I've installed Bootcamp (now the Bootcamp partition appears as a hard drive on my desktop).

I have decided to use VMFusion instead. How do I erase the Bootcamp partition so that I free up the hard disk space that was allotted to it?

I know there is an easier way, but I just reinstalled Mac OS X fresh to get rid of the windows partition. Time Machine was very useful.

Thanks, Nagger, but I can't go that route -- way too many other programs already installed and updated.

Open up disk utility click on the very first HDD than click the partition tab, select the partition you would like to get rid of, hit the minus button and click apply! Voila!

When I open the disk utility app in my applications folder and click on the Bootcamp drive, there are only four options (OS-X): First Aid, Erase, RAID, Restore.

If I choose Erase, that won't actually get rid of the partition, will it?

No it won't are you clicking on the very first drive on the list? The one that starts with the size of your hard drive?

Oh, gotcha! Okay, I found it. Now, if I click the minus button while having Bootcamp selected, does it reformat that drive and just make it part of the Mac's HD?

If so, is Mac formatted in FAT32?

you could also use bootcamp assistant to remove a bootcamp partition

yes you can use the Boot Camp to remove the windows partition..

Open Boot Camp and click remove partition and then click restore...Something like that. But it will restore your old Macintosh HD
