Is it possible to network a iMac OS 8 to an iMac OS X 10.4.7. I've played around with many settings including chaging the IP to and but this doesnt seem to work.

Is it a compatibility issue with appletalk and TCP/IP?

Help would be much appreciated

QUOTE Thanks

Yes, you can network the two, you need to enable AppleTalk for built in Ethernet in Network sys prefs, click on Appletalk tab and enable 'Make Appletalk active' and use auto configuration.
BTW, use proper network IP addresses e.g. 10.x.x.x or 172.x.x.x etc.
