I know what you mean,
I have had this problem before, Have you tried using DiskUtility included in the OS X instillation disk, just boot from the disk (hold "c" on startup) and it will boot from the disk click on the Utilities button in the menu bar and then DiskUtility partition away ![]() the only problem with doing it this way is I am pretty sure it will erase your OS X instillation along with everything else you may have on the drive Hope this helps!
