Just letting you know, the MacBook Pros will only run Tiger (10.4), so if you're trying to install an earlier version it's not going to work.
Boot Camp creates a partition that is either FAT32 or blank space (I can't remember). You'll have to go into Disk Utility (apps/utilities) and select the partition and Erase/Format it to Mac OS Extended Journaled. Then it should show up in the Install pane. I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can. They're - Their - There | Two - Too - To | You're - Your | MAC - Mac I was on the M-F honor roll for October, 2006.

OK well I opened Disk Utility and the new partition is greyed out. I didn't see a Format but I saw an erase. However I couldn't erase because it says it wasn't mounted. When I clicked mount nothing happened, as in, it didn't mount

Arent all of the OSX versions intel compatible? I remember Steve Jobs talking about that in a keynote when they first announced the switch to intel.

As for this particular problem, you probably need to either format the drive entirely by using Disk Utility from within the installer of whichever you install first, or using a 3rd party partition shrinker to reduce your Tiger installation. |
