Lag Spikes on Windows

My frind uses Boot Camp to run Windows XP Home and OSX. Under OSX he has no problems at all, but under Windows he gets bad lag spikes every 1-2 minutes that bring up his ping on games up to about 700. He's using the Airport Network thing. I'm not real familiar with Mac stuff, but I'm trying to help him out. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be going on?
QUOTE Thanks

what games is he playing? does he have them both for MAC and windows, if not, then i doubt it is his mac, it is likely the server's he is connecting to for that game.
