Hi,
First post. I have a friend who has OS9 and wants to update to 10, but she can't remember her password so she can't update. Is there anyone who knows of a way to get around this or recover the password?

Thanks,
Mini

Yes, I understand that. But assuming one has OS 10 and can't remember the password, which causes them not to be able to update to later (because it *does* ask for one's password when you do a software update) version, how does on reset the password if you can't remember it?

Are you talking about the OS9 password or the OSX password?

If you mean the OS9 password, read page 2 of THIS thread.

For OS X you boot from the installer disk and go to the item "Reset Password" in the Installer menu.
