As a new owner of iMac, OS X 10.8.4 and also new in this wonderful AplleWorld I need some help.
I try to install FTDI USB Serial Driver but the plastic brain reject the installation software.
What am I doing wrong?
Please give me a helping hand.
I need the serial port to connect my transceiver to the Aether Log pgm. (HAM Radio)
Have a nice weekend.

Where you did the driver from? FTDI is a very common USB-to-Serial converter and in most cases you don't need drivers.

What happens when you just plug the cable/device into the iMac? Did you check to see if any new devices named "/dev/ttyUSB0" were created?

I purchased the Universal USB-RS232 FTDI adapter Maker DIGITUS
together with Easy-Rotor-Control (ECR) kit
from Germany ECR Ing-Buro Alba de Schmidt

I will try to just plug it in, maybe itīl work.
Cross my fingers.

Yes, I can se the USB-Serial port in the system. Great, but the AetherLog don't, which is another software problem to solve.
Anyhow, thanks for the help.

Do you know if the software just needs the device or something more? Perhaps the drives is more than just the USB-serial driver?

I donīt know?
I will contact the support at aetherlog.com for more assistance.

Here in Sweden the summer sun is shining and the birds singing loudly, it is a shame to be indoors and playing with the HAM-radio and, computing is confusing.

Best regards
