What's the Best 3D Animation App for Mac?

I am a high school student that is currently learning 3D animation, and am running Windows. Blea.
I am thinking of switching to Mac, probably when new Intel PBs come out.
I now am using 3D Studio Max and it is a really cool program, but I don't think there is a Mac version. Boo Hoo.
Are there any really good 3d animation Programs for Mac?
If anyone has any knowledge in this area, it would be great if you would share it.

I am learning Maya. It is a pretty cool program, and I do believe it will satisfy the power you need. 3d Studio Max is sweet, but give Maya a shot. I think you'll be surprised.

Max is not ported for Mac (I don't think Autodesk will) and Maya is a powerful program with a steep learning curve. It's a great app
