Hi folks. I'm new to the MacBook Pro and I'm running Win 2008 R2 on Fusion on a 17" 2.3 GHz (early 2011).
I bought this from the Apple reburbish outlet. Last night, a 2.5 GHz (late 2011 model) popped up on the outlet and I ordered it (since I still have time to return the 2.3 GHz for full refund). But should I really switch? The 2.3 GHz has a 8GB L3 cache, and I was surprised to find out that the newer 2.5 GHz has a smaller 6GB cache. Could someone please provide some experienced input on which configuration they would rather have to run multiple OS's and perform development on (Sql Server, MySQL, Visual Studio, IIS, etc). Also, any other differences between those two models I should take into account? Thanks in advance for your feedback. -Dan |
