So, when I try to partition, I get the error :
Your Disk Cannot Be Partitioned Because Some Files Cannot Be Moved Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format the disk as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again. I did a lot of surfing and searching and tried the iDefrag + CDMaker solution. I got an iDefrag copy, but I can't seem to get CDMaker to work. It says it cant make a bootable CD from my Install disk. (Snow Leopard, Install Disk) If anyone can help me with this first, it would be great. If that doesn't work, I've been looking at the other solution... v Boot Camp Assistant works only with internal disks. You cannot use Boot Camp Assistant to partition and install Windows on an external disk. If a dialog appears saying “The disk cannot be partitioned because verification failed,” try repairing the disk using Disk Utility and running Boot Camp Assistant again. If that doesn’t work, back up all the information on your computer, start up from your Mac OS X Leopard installation disc, and erase the disk using Disk Utility. Restore the information to your computer from the backup and try running Boot Camp Assistant again. I can do this, since I have an external hard drive ready to go. However, Idk what it exactly means, and would be really thankful if someone can put up a step by step instruction on how to do this. I also have a copy of the latest Carbon Copy Cloner app. Note : However, my external takes maybe 2-3 minutes to show up on my Mac. Will this mean I can’t use it to boot? |

The error message usually means that your disk is fragmented and you must either (1) purchase and use a defragmenting software, like iDefrag, or (2) back up and reinstall everything on your drive. Cheers |

To change the size of your Boot Camp partition without reinstalling, you must use a third party utility - the one we typically recommend is Paragon CampTune for Mac® OS X - Overview
There is no free utility for this unfortunately, from Apple or anyone else. Cheers |
