Want to install XP SP3 CD.
    Hello,

I have read somewhere that you must install Windows XP SP2 first time around when running it through boot camp. I can find better deals online for XP SP3. Is there a way to install SP3 first time out or must it be SP2? I am running snow leopard on a new iMac.

    Thanks

ok thanks for the info, then why do most people use SP2? Is it true that SP3 isnt as install friendly?

They used to because that's the minimum Boot Camp requirement, and a lot of folks have licensed copies lying around because SP2 was around for so long. Once SP3 came out, it was time for folks to move to Win7 for the most part. There was a big discussion on here about whether you had to install SP2 first and upgrade or could go straight to SP3 - finally settled on the latter. My two cents.
