instructions on how to install parallels, win 7

I just purchased my first macpro today via the apple website today. I plan on installing parallels 5 with win 7 and ms home office 2007 for mac. Parallels comes with a free upgrade to 6.

Is there a website one can go to that will give step by step instructions on how to install this software? I also have to option to install it in either 32 bit or 64 bit. Which is better?

Here are my mac specs: macpro 15" intel core i7 processor 2.66 ghz, 8 gb ram, 500 gb HD @5200 rpm. I also own a pc desktop.

I would install the 64-bit version since your computer has an impressive rig.

It is actually fool-proof since they will guide you with everything when you start the installation, however, here are two articles that can help you:

How to Use Parallels With a Mac | eHow.com

How do I install Windows XP on my Mac with Parallels Desktop? :: Free Tech Support :: Ask Dave Taylor!

I know that the Parallels versions in the articles are probably older than the one you have, but the procedure is almost, if not exactly, identical.

Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to Mac-Forums.

Thanks for the links. Now, just waiting for the computer to come and to try them out.

Just note, you have a MacBook Pro, not a Mac Pro (which is a desktop machine).

Also, Office 2007 is for Windows. Office 2008 is for Mac (and 2011 is due out in just a few weeks).

If you're planning on purchasing Parallels...installation instructions are generally part of the purchase of the software.
