I have Quicktime pro 7, I was just checking for updates and this is like the 3rd or 4th time I have wondered about this option. It is installed along with QT. It asks if I want to find and install QT 3rd- party software. Does Apple recommend this? I am not sure if it is needed or not. Will adding to the QTpro 7 I bought from Apple void any QT problems down the road"?

You don't really need any of them. If you do end up doing such specialised stuff then quicktime should automatically find and download the required plugins from that page.

I'm in your forums, writing sentences in a grammatically acceptable manner.

Clicking the "Install" button next to "third-party software" takes you to this page
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resou...omponents.html
Which has add-ons (mostly codecs) for QuickTime. You probably shouldn't worry about it unless/until you come across some content that requires one of those components.
