windows for mac

- iMac 2008 running OS X snow leopard 10.6.8
I need to run windows on my mac.
How can i do this?
i have some business software that can only be run in windows
I have downloaded the parallell software from their site but it starts asking me for a windows version and product key.
Do i need to get a copy of windows then before i can do this?
How do i do this ? start to finish, please help.
