I have a G4 Dual 1.25 MDD FW400 that I'm selling. A potential buyer wants to know if a clean install of OS 9 can be made on this machine. I currently have OSX 10.5 installed.

The system originally came with OSX 10.2 and OS 9 preinstalled. Would there be any problems with a clean install of OS 9 and it being the only OS on the system?

You should be able to install just OS 9...since the 1.25ghz MDD Firewire 400 is capable of booting into OS 9 (versus later computers which cannot boot OS 9).

Pop in the OS 9 classic disc, format the drive and install OS 9, remembering to select the 'install drivers' box, and pass the OS 9 and )S X.2 on to the purchaser.
