i was thinking about bootcamping windows 7 for games but i was wondering how much should i partition for windows. 99.9% of the reason im doing this is for gaming. any suggestions

You need to first decide which version of Windows 7 to install.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit needs a minimum of 15 GB.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit needs a minimum of 20 GB.

The above minimums are given without considering space for applications. For games you will need much more space than what's recommended. Most action games that are graphic intensive take up quite a bit of space.

For example: Microsoft Flight Simulator X including scenery can use an enormous amount of space.

What is the total size of your hard drive? If you want to be gaming I'd suggest at least 50GB to allow you enough space to install a few games.
