Norton SystemWorks & NDD Discontinued?

I have a new 17" 1.67 PowerBook 10.3.9. The installation CD for SystemWorks 3.0 doesn't boot OSX as it should when necessary. After a lengthy wait with Symantec support, I was advised that they are discontinuing SystemWorks & NDD for any OSX after 10.3.7.

Does anyone else know of this, or was my tech consultant mistaken?

Why are you using this? It will slow down your computer to a snail's pace.
Again, why are you installing this?

Why would you even want norton? You dont need it, and it causes more problems than it solves....

The tech was right. Symantec announced it about a year ago.
Since Symantec has only one Mac product now - NAV - how long do you think they will continue a Mac development program?
