Windows - ntfs formatting Q

hi im trying to install vista via bootcamp on my brothers new macbook, but it says disc should be ntfs format. ive got the partition bit done ok but its the install thats not happening.can someone plz advise me on wot to do cheers

ok sorry about this, i may not have explained that very well. the simple question is how do i format the windows partition for ntfs ? as it wont allow me to proceed wiv loading windows until i do that many thanx
