I'm not sure if this is the right forum (and if it's not I apologize), but I'm having real performance problems with WinXP. Specifically, when trying to load something from the DVD-ROM I notice the system doesn't load it at a reasonable speed at all. This was never a problem on my Mini. The DVD-ROM has always been really loud, but I'm I've never had performance problems. Does anyone know anything about this?

I know that the DVD performance is slower when my MBP is not plugged in. Also check the specs of both systems. It is possible that the mini drive has better performance characteristics.
