How would I make my mac give you the choice between windows and mac every time without holding down option like maybe an firmware entry.

Install rEFIt. You'll get a graphical menu on bootup.

Standing request for all troubleshooting: Please provide your Mac model/year and OS version. Also advise us if you have used or installed any antivirus, security, or "cleaning" software on your Mac. If you have installed MacKeeper in particular, you are hereby advised to uninstall it.

If all else fails to fix your problem, read this tip.

rEFit is good but probably overkill for what you need. Instead, try Bootpicker, free software from here:

http://www.bombich.com/software/bootpicker.html

Works great and doesn't require fiddling with the EFI.

Regards.

That'd have been a good alternative if the software was actually available still.

Sorry about that, didn't know Mike was doing an upgrade. I downloaded it around two months ago and it does work great. Looking forward to the new version.

Regards.
