Hi all. I'm hoping some will be able to shed some light on my issue here. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I just connected the HKSoundStickII system, and the system's volume output is no more than the laptop's internal speakers. Something must be wrong, but this is a very straightforward uncomplicated installation... four plugs and done. It is a self-powered system with a sub so it should be thumping, but alas it is not. I have checked "sound" at 'system preferences,' and under "choose a device for sound output" it is not recognizing or designating SoundStick. It is showing only "headphones" in the 'built in output' port.

Please someone help. I spent a considerable sum of hard-earned money on this system, and it is currently useless. There has to be something I am overlooking. Possibly an adjustment in the preferences? I have adjusted all the input/output volumes that I see, and yet...

Just as I posted that thread, I looked over at the Sticks in frustration, and noticed an extremely conspicuous volume control on the bottom of one of the Sticks. I had seen the volume knob on the sub, and ASSumed the speakers were modulated only by the laptop volume.

Thank you for your views.
