This is for Windows XP. I have 4GB installed in my computer and of course OS X knows its there, but 'cause I'm running 32 bit version of XP it only sees 3GB. I use the XP side for gaming. Will the 1GB loss make that much of a difference or is it barely noticeable?

Which Mac do you have? Your graphics card matters more than your RAM. If you only have a midrange graphics card, then losing that 1GB of RAM isn't going to make any difference.

XP runs like a dream in 1 GB of RAM. It will think it is living in a luxury resort when it sees it has 3 GB! Don't worry about it.

My Macs: PowerMac G5 Quad, 2.5 GHz, 4 Core, Mac Pro, 3.2 GHz 8 Core, Power Macintosh 7500/100
My iStuff: 32 GB iPhone 4, 30 GB iPod Video, 16 GB iPod Touch
