Blu-Ray External Drive??

I know it would be kind of a mess but I really would like to play Blu-Ray movies on my MBP. I wonder if it would play through the mac DVD player because under the preferences, there is an HD tab, to adjust the HD settings, leading me to believe it can play HD media? Any input would be appreciated. |
