This might sound like a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere....

Can you surf the web on the AppleTV?

If so, has any tried going to the BBC iPlayer (http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/)?

I know Apple/BBC are looking at releasing a proper app for this, but in the meantime I wondered if browsing to that webpage worked?

Thanks

AppleTV currently doesn't have a web browser and if it did it would be useless without USB keyboard and mouse support. Some have managed to hack there AppleTV to run Firefox and USB keyboard and mouse. A Google search will show you.

Crack that whip…..liquorish whip.

Fair enough, I can understand that, but never having used it didn't know if you were able to use the remote in some way which would allow you to navigate.

Guess I'll have to wait until the BBC announce that they have an Apple TV app.

But it requires that you hack your AppleTV. I won't go into that here, you can find plenty on Google about that. I only browsed a few websites but you can bookmark your favorites and use the remote to surf. Works okay for what it does.
