printer for network

ok just picked up 3 new macs for the house, the mac mini for the kitchen, a mac pro for the home office and a macbook for my daughter. now before this we were an all pc family, so i really don't know too much about macs. that said we also have a media pc running xp media center, my son has another desktop pc running xp pro in his room, and then both the wife and i have xp laptops for work. so alot of computers on the network. right now we have a couple printers would like to get that down to one. we have a wireless network setup throughout the house. so could anyone suggest a printer that we could setup for atleast most of the computers? will mainly be used for documents. been searching the internet and i am really not sure what i should be looking for. intial price isn't too big a deal (would liek to keep it under $300 though), but don't want to get stuck with something that requires ridicously priced cartridges. thanks.
