Hi all,
I just got a Maxtor SATA HD, and hooked it up to an Acomdata external USB2.0 enclosure (http://www.acomdata.com/hdp/harddriv...nclosure.html). My problem is that when the drive is connected to my computer, and even if i'm NOT reading/writing from/to it, I can hear it "seeking" (I don't know if that's the right word) every couple of seconds. Is there any way to put my harddrive to sleep when it's not being used? I used to have a Maxtor OneTouch external HD that would sleep when not in use, and then spin up if I tried to read/write. Is this a function of the HD, the enclosure, or the OS? Thanks, Dan |
