Mouse Back Button Stopped Working

Mac Specs: iMac 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo 8GB RAM 500GB HDD OSX 10.9.3

Started computing today and discovered my Logitech Revolution mouse back/forward buttons have stopped working... I went to Preferences and even though there's a back and forward button it doesn't have the option of forward or back just "click, keystroke etc... Any suggestions?
