Canon D660U won't work with new iMac

Any ideas for getting my Canon D660U scanner working with my new intel iMac running tiger? Canon still seems to only support non-intel macs.

If I must buy a new scanner any recent suggestions?

I have a Canon Scanner - LiDE 60, and it works fine under Leopard (and formerly with Tiger) with my Intel MacBook. Not sure why you are led to believe Canon only supports PPC. Drivers are on their website.

The only driver on the Canon site does not install on my Intel imac and none of the scanners on the Apple store site work with Intel machines either.

Assuming I did eventually get my scanner to be recognised what scanning software do people use?
