Hello all,
I have a Powerpc g4 mac. The dvdrom died on me so I replaced it with a dual layer Pioneer drive. When I insert a blank dual layer disk, the machine detects it but when I try to open it to burn, I get an error message stating that that the disk type is not supported. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Do you think the drive needs additional firmware to function on a mac? Thanks |

Be aware that some drives will only burn DVD+R DL, and the cheaper DVD-R DL discs won't work.
Like mine; I had to pay £3 extra to get the last pack of DVD+R DL discs, instead of the plentiful and cheap(er) DVD-R DL. Koalas: The mafia of the animal kingdom. Now Powered By Leopard.
