Help with my Brother HL-1440 printer "enlarging"

Please excuse my ignorance about this issue. I am trying to print out an enlarged picture 200%. I use the page set up option and choose 200% but then when I print it crops it back down to regular size. I was expecting it to print it off in several sheets that I'd then tape together. I have tried converting jpg to PDF file and printing it that way. I have tried saving as a larger jpg and printing it that way it then it only prints the upper left hand corner of the picture. I haven't done this in so long but it seems it used to print larger files on several sheets...I have Mac G4 and brother HL-1440 printer...any help would be greatly appreciated...
