I have purchased a 250GB Mercury Elite Pro FW drive to use for backing up my iMac. I want to be able to have a bootable clone as well as do versioned backups on the same drive. Can I partition the drive into two sections, with one partition used for cloning and the other for versioned backups? I want to do this on the same drive to save some $$ right now. Will this work?

Yes.

Use Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities)

I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can.
