I am running an iBook G3 500 Dual USB White with Panther. When I hook up my Napster TOGO mp3 player, it was free, to the box it only sees it when I have it set MSC, the files and directories appear with strange names, and not when it is in MTP usb mode. Any suggestions on getting a simple sync or just basic drive access?

does it show up on the desktop/finder as a drive at all?

if you end up not getting your question answered here, sicne most people here besides me are pretty pro-ipod here (i wonder why?), try the forums at anythingbutipod.com.

Only when it is set to MSC. Though then, the directories and files are represented as "00000001/0000001.mp3" instead of NOFX/Franco-Unamerican.mp3

What software did you use to put the files on there? Some music manager programs do all kinds of mangling to your filenames and directory structures.

I dragged and dropped the tracks via ms explorer. I don't sync if I can help it.
