Hey guys...I picked up a wireless mighty mouse off craigslist but it doesn't come with the CD...is there anything on that CD that is really required for it to work?
As this is the Official Mouse Thread I guess this is the place for a mousey kinda question...
I want a mouse with a ball but I don't want a mighty mouse... is there ANYTHING on the market that has a scrollball and REAL buttons?
I finally put my mighty mouse away in its box and have switched to my old MS Intellimouse as L / R clicks in games were just soooo unreliable with the MM. But I really really miss the scroll ball now
Well, for me, yes - I find it works relatively well on the desktop. Inevitably I do sometimes fail to right click but that's my own user-error and usually doesn't result in a fatal injury.
If I'm playing CoD2 and start messing up the clicks it's a lot more frustrating... someone could die around here! :doctor:
I have had my mighty mouse for 2 days and from what I can tell it is just a mouse. I hope the scroll button doesn't fail but if it does mice are a dime a dozen. It is very cute though.
I spent about 5 hours trying to find a decent gaming mouse that would work with my mac, and seemed that none would. I ultimately wanted the logitech g5 and much to my surprise pbook24 has it! The people at the store said some of the buttons would not work if you can't load the PC only software- so, whats the deal? it works anyway?
oh and imo, mighty mouse and keyboard are pretty terrible, it just doesnt make sense.
In my opinion, it is what the Mighty Mouse wanted to be... but failed.:black:

okkkk i Bought the Logitech G5 but Logitech control center doesn't recognize it, and USB overdrive doesn't change the button settings at all... Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a G5 and love it. The resolution is awesome. The ability to adjust the weight of the mouse is a greater ergonomic benefit than I would have guessed. Also, I use the sensitivity controls on the mouse (which allow you, with the push of a button, to move from fine to avg to coarse sensitivity without opening any menus, etc.) quite frequently.
LCC sees mine as "Cordless Mouseman Optical" and lets me set the switches that way; I believe this is because I have a Cordless Elite keyboard and the Mouseman comes bundled with it. However, according to this article, you can use USB Overdrive successfully with just a small drop in resolution (from 2,000dpi to 1,400dpi).
