Trying to make a mp3 cd from i tunes. When I insert a pny or memorex cd-r in my iMac I can hear sounds like it trying to read it then the iMac ejects the cd-r. This also happens when i also try to back up some my enormous cd collection into iTunes. Majority of the cd's can be read but some of them get ejected after the super drive ttys to read.

thanks hal

G'day and welcome to the forums.

Try quality media such as Verbatim and see how you go. And depending on the model of your iMac, which you have not shared, is it necessary to use +R discs?

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
