I have a macbook air and LG smart TV. Is there a way I could stream videos from my air to the TV wirelessly? Any ideas?

I know; there was an earlier thread on that. But, I have this lovely 4k tv which is not apple unfortunately and would love to watch movies on that.

You apparently don't know what an Apple TV is either - check it out here.

$99 and stream all your iTunes content wirelessly to your TV.
Depending on which Mac you have, you may be able to stream your Mac's screen to the TV with it.
It is the easiest way to stream content from your Mac to your TV.
No matter what brand your TV happens to be.

Do you think a MBA with OSX 10.9.1 do the job?

You'll be able to stream your iTunes content.

The MBA will need to be a mid '11 model or newer to use the Airplay feature.
I have that particular MBA and it works quite well for streaming web content and other vids I have that are not in my iTunes library.
