I have just taken delivery of a Canon LBP 7110CW only to find that there are no drivers for Mac users. Canon advise they will be available in April 2013 but do not have a firm date. I'll have to wait and see when they become available, in the meantime I have printer I have paid for but cannot use.

Canon is usually pretty good about providing drivers for their printers. You'll just have to wait it out or send the printer back for a refund. And, as you found out it's always best to determine if a device is compatible before purchasing it.

BTW, cartridge replacements for color laser printers are usually expensive - hopefully you've taken that into account.

Another option is to try to see if there is a driver in the Canon family that closely matches the model you have and see if that'll work. You might not get ALL of the functionality, but if you can at least get printing going, that's something while you wait for the real driver to be released..

And I'll second "chscag"s advice of checking compatibility with Mac whenever buying peripherals. A lot of companies usually get the Windows drivers out first and then follow it up with the Mac version sometime later..
