I have a 2004 Airport Express A1084 that I have never used. Is it compatible my 2010 iMac, and if so, are there any special things I need to know? Ie, utilities etc. Thanks for any assistance.

It's a g rated wifi device rather than an n rated device that your Mac is capable of using but your Mac can use older g devices too so you'll be fine.

You'll need to use Airport Utilty for configuring your express.

External hard disk acquisition addict - but admitting the problem is the first step to a robust backup
