I'm about to buy a new mouse and I need some advice. The 900 is BT, which is what I would prefer, but is only standard optical. The 1000 is laser, but uses RF which would use one of my USB ports. I only have two left. That would only leave me with one. So my question to you guys is whether the difference is noticable for simple applications. I DO NOT play games on my Mac. I only use it for surfing and other apps. Wouldn't the MX900 suit me fine? I don't want to use another USB port if I won't notice a difference. Thanks.

Does anyone here have an MX900? I need to know if it has an electrical plug. Because if it only charges thru the USB, then I might as well get the 1000. But if I can plug the charger/base into the wall, then I think I want it. Thanks.

The MX900 doesn't have an OSX Mac driver so far as I know. The MX1000 does but then if your just surfing the net you'll not need such a fast mouse. I've been looking at the MX1000 myself at late and it does get a lot of bad press for it's drivers (as do all the logitech mice) which are supposed to be rubbish and that the mouse jumps to the top of the screen now and again, that seems to be a problem with placing the base station next to speakers or other objects that will brake up the signal. A lot of mixed views on it's performance.

I'd also consider taking a look at Kensington's mice.

USB Overdrive is all you need for OS X and mice.

Ive got the MX1000 and cant enough good things about it and im using it on a 12" PB
if you can afford that mouse then get it with a USB hub if you need the ports you wont be dissapointed

How big is the power-pack for the charger/base station ? could you send a picture ? Please ?

I hate it when you get a power pack and it takes up two sockets. :spook:

Also, have you had any problems with the mouse curser making erratic movements ?

I am running an MX1000 mouse on my G4 Cube through a 7-port hub. The hub also runs my D-link USB Bluetooth adapter and various other goodies; no problems with interferance at all. I can't speak for the MX900, but I did have the MX700 in the past. It was an excellent mouse, but the MX1000 does feel a lot more accurate. It fits my hand like a glove, I love it! The base station is a lot smaller than the MX700, too. I've heard the MX900 has some issues with Bluetooth, but I can't really say anything on that because I don't have one.
