    External Hard Drive ._trashes
I use a 2TB external hard drive that mainly serves as a library of movies for my Samsung SmartTV. I have hundreds of movie files, etc on this and now these trash files are invading this drive. I have tried emptying the trash while the hard drive is attached, with no change. I can not see the trashes folder while it's plugged into my computer, but can when it's plugged into the tv. Is there anyway to delete or empty this trash folder using my mac (not a PC) without completely reformatting my hard drive in disk utility?

You can't as they are resource fork files and are automatically created as long as you're using HFS+. I have had the same problem with a device that I didn't want the ._trashes files or any other hidden files to be visible. The only way I know how to get rid of them is attach the drive or device to a PC and delete them that way.
