More than 4gb ram in Macbook

I know what Apple says,i know what crucial says,but i wanna hear from the horses mouth.
Can you put more than 4gbs of ram in a Macbook 7.1 .Please let your answer be from first hand knowledge,not from what you have been told."They" told Columbus that the world was flat,looked how that turned out. Either way i am going to throw in a couple of schticks,one 4gb,one 2gb. if it works i might go with two 4gbs.If it dont work,my next post will be how to fix my mac.

Mac Specs: 13" MB 2.4ghz, 2gig ram, OS 10.7.5

You can install 8gig. My wife has a MacBook 6,1...and she has 8gig in hers as well.
