any words of wisdom ...I have an Imac with Mac OSX 10.5.8

I have installed the kobo setup program, and it displays in Finder as a device

but when I plug in my new Kobo e reader to the usb port but it does not appear at all as a device as a kobo e reader device in finder

and I get a message that device is not support

it does appear in system profiler attached to the usb as ereader
it appears in disk utility ,but mount is not enabled
QUOTE Thanks
