Can anyone recommend a good UPS solution for my new iMac - it should have line condition recording sofware (voltage, freq, etc) as I'm having a brown/surge problem in my house.

Well, lets start with the basics...

Where are you located and what voltage do you need?

I've used APC units that were 120VAC but it gave off a bad hum (unwanted ground?) through my music equipment when I am recording. I had to switch up and buy a Monster Cable HTUPS 2000.

MBP 3,1 & 4,1 w/ Vertex 4 SSD | Logic Pro 9 | Ableton Live 8 | Traktor Pro 2 | AKAI MPK-49 | Roland MV-8000, TR-808 & TR-909 | Ensoniq ASR-10 | x0xb0x #911 | Denon DN-MC6000 | (3) Technics SL-1200MK1 | 3000+ vinyl records

I'm in Hong Kong (220v). When I lived in Los Angeles, I used APC with music recording as well, but it didn't have the hum problem.

My main concern is being able to record the line conditions, so I can show my utility / landlord the line conditions, so I can get something done, all while protecting my mac.
