Problem With Wireless Keyboard On Macbook Pro

The function keys on my wireless keyboard are not operating correctly when connected to my Macbook Pro. The Keyboard on the computer itself is working fine, but on the wireless keyboard there seems to be no way of adjusting the sound volume and screen brightness, etc.
