Can anyone recommend a printer that won't use ink when I'm away?

I used to have a Brother brand printer that sucked. It used ink testing itself when I was away and it wouldnt let you print if one color was empty. I want a replacement printer. Any suggestions for a printer that won't do those thing?

Basically any Laser printer.

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .

Any laser printer should work fine for you...Brother, HP, Epson, etc.

Macs? Oh yes, several.
