Lost Password for Lacie Rugged Drive

Hey, I have only used my lacie rugged safe hard disk once and cannot remember my password for the life of me. does anyone know how to retrieve a lost password? or at elast reset the device? this is also the fingerprint scan disk as well and doesnt seem to work

that is a good suggestion but isnt working. is there a way to reset/ restore to factory settings?

Going into the keychain is not going to work because the password is stored on the drive itself in a hidden sector. Try contacting LaCie support and ask if there is a work around or "back door" master password to access the drive. I don't think you can format the drive without the password.

Call Lacie support. Did you register the password with them when new?

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
