Hi everyone,

I've just come on here to see if anyone else has ever upgraded an old iMac to run an x86 board and OS? I've nearly finished one and im slowly writing up how i did it on my website. I'm looking to find out if there is anything specific people might be interest in reading in my how to guide?

Some pic's on here sum up what I'm on about pretty well
How I Built an Apple Mac computer

Thanks,
Chris

You will not get any help, advice or other about Hackintosh machines. Running OSX on different hardware is against the law (EULA).

I would recommend keeping the machine as it is.

Surprised moderators have not slammed the thread already!

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!

Note that the OP is not installing OS X on a PC. He's building a Mac from old Mac parts. However, since that too is not legal, this thread will be closed.
