I am trying to back up my imac to Time Capsule. It was working but the backed up data was deleted. I am trying to start again but get a message that the backup disk image could not be mounted. In disk utility the disk shows as already mounted. Any ideas?

Do a disk repair and repair permissions.
To do this go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility, click on your your time capsule, click the First Aid tab, click Repair Disk, once completed click Repair Permissions.
This may take some time so be patient with it.

Hope this helps
If not though post back and we will help you more.

Have done repair but Repair Permissions remains greyed out. However the connection seems to have been re-established and a backup has started. So far so good. Thanks for your help.
